I work with printmaking, focusing on the matrix rather than the print. I’m drawn to the process of cutting, carving, and inking to see how the matrix transforms through labour and accumulates a physical history. I view it not as just part of the process, but as an object that holds the memory of making. My practice explores the tension between permanence and impermanence. The ink and marks embedded in the surface become a lasting record, while the matrix itself is often overlooked or
discarded.
Each piece contributes to an ongoing investigation into how time, touch,
and effort become material. What connects my work is a commitment to process. I treat the matrix as a sculptural object, elevating the often-invisible stages of creation.
By focusing on the residue and erosion of labour, I question where value lies in the product, the process, or the object that made it.
