Majed Fayad
Majed Fayad is a Lebanese-Australian multidisciplinary artist based in Melbourne (Naarm).
My practice explores the intersections and overlaps between Middle Eastern and Western cultures, while preserving the cultural identity and fostering diasporic experiences. With a focus on identity, in-betweenness, nostalgia, Futurism, and dreaming. The work is explored through immersive, performative installations that promote hospitality, sound environments, and the collapse of time (past and present), by reimagining dreamscapes for Arab futurity.
Arab-Futurism is reimagined through a series of social gatherings that bring Arabs and others in the diaspora together to envision an inclusive future.
