Lia Mills
How to go on working in a world that is falling apart around you? Where you feel increasingly isolated, sucked into the screen, the blue light resting gently on your cheek. You’ll be up for a few more hours now.
I started in the womb then moved to the home. In my teenage bedroom I constructed my idea of the world through images. I thought about ghosts, scrolled through Tumblr, watched movies and longed for a place that didn't exist. Mice scurry in the corners and leave their droppings, but they’re so cute that I don't mind.
Now, in the studio, I return to images and drawing as I try to make sense of it all.
