Jack Snow-Viener
My work examines the similarities of chastity and indulgence. Using found objects coated in flocked finishes, I render objects useless of their intent; turning the unwanted into an art object. Despite their attractive surface, the context of the gallery forces the object to remain untouched.
This body of work forms a collection of sculptural vignettes, featuring symbols that try to articulate the language of desire and loss.
My practice revolves around the quarter sun - As in the sun drawn in the corner of most artwork done by children. No child sees the sun in quarters, they just simply all decided, for no apparent reason, to draw it this way.
