Isabella Kelly

Isabella Kelly’s work is an act of personal liberation, reclaiming their autonomy and exploring a new evolution of self and body positivity. The works act as manifestations of a new ideal narrative to replace negative experiences of the past, altering them into newer empowered and emboldened ones.

Using collage in both analogue and digital forms, the works seek to create a safe space that encourages the indulgence of physical intimacy and romance, reflecting personal needs, wants and desires. This collage aesthetic is explored through video, found materials, print techniques and drawing, including a strong shared presence of the colour pink and processes of repetition.

Inspired by a collection of endless romance genres, Kelly’s work aims to reverse the negative impacts on her personal wellbeing by continuing to explore a new understanding of what both sex and love is and can be.
