I live amongst a constant stream of digital waste. I am haunted by the ghosts of techno ephemera. I am stuck in an infinite loop, inside a structure of technological detritus. A Program eternally penetrates my brain. The Programs are cast from within the structure, yet it’s built as though it was meant as a barricade; trying to both protect what lies inside it from and obstruct the exact thing it projects. There is no shield from the Program's perpetual invasion. I have become a slave to the Program's burden.


CYBERSTEW unites audio-visual practices with sculptural amalgamations, bringing the digital into a textile, three-dimensional realm. My practice inserts concepts of cyberpunk and science fiction into representations of reality, creating Programs of abrasive, audio-visual translations of computer data. The audio-visual Programs are transmitted with such intensity and violence that it’s as though they rewire the brain, emulating modes of psychological torture and subliminal messaging to reflect the overstimulation of AI-dignified media.


Found materials and media are used to assemble the structure and sequence of the Programs it projects, rendering their presence within a post-apocalyptic technological wasteland, a consequence of the neoliberal desire for technological reliance.


My practice often embodies satirical undertones, thinly veiling absurdist and humorous implications underneath existential and exaggerated processes. Within this arises a tension between my sardonic portrayal of technology and its simultaneous employment within my practice – a dilemma concerning the critical examination of cyber technology and its elusively tongue-in-cheek narrative.
