Amelia Quantock
I collect and work with found plastic. These pieces scavenged from the side of the road, rescued from bins and hard rubbish piles, carry their own strange histories. I sort, curate, and arrange. It's in this process that I find meaning: in what we discard, in what we overlook and in what can be transformed through attention, colour, and care.
I start my assemblages with colour. I always begin with a single, vibrant hue. One that catches my eye and insists on being seen. From there, I follow instinct, matching one colour with the next, building something bigger, louder, teetering, towering, toppling: clown-like in its precarity.
It becomes an abstract version of myself: playful, a little chaotic, always in motion.
